
Volleyball Picked Seventh in BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall volleyball team was picked seventh in the 2010 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll, released today by the conference office. The Pirates, who finished eighth last season, are coming off their first post-season appearance since 1994.
Six starters return for the Hall, including senior outside hitter Sarah Osmun (Crystal Lake, Ill.), who is on pace to set the school career record for kills. The Pirates open the season in the Tribe Invitational against William & Mary on Aug. 27, followed by tournaments at Penn State and California.
Cincinnati was the unanimous choice to win the conference, followed by defending tournament champion Louisville. Notre Dame and Marquette round out the top four.
Stephanie Niemer of Cincinnati was the pick for Preseason Player of the Year.
