SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Following a strong debut weekend, the Seton Hall women's golf program returns to the course on Saturday in the Princeton Invitational. The Pirates will play 36 holes on Sept. 18 and 18 more on Sept. 19 at Springdale Country Club.
Joining Seton Hall in the field are Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, Monmouth, Penn, Princeton, Rollins, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, St. John's and Yale. The course measures in at 6,131 yards.
"The team has worked diligently this week to prepare for Princeton both in the gym and on the golf course," said head coach Sara Doell. "After our first event, Coach Murphy and I have identified the most important areas of the players' games to focus on this week. We have been working on bunker play, lag putting and pre-shot routines- all areas that cost us some shots last week."
"The field at Princeton is strong and the Tigers will be a strong competitor on their home course," Doell added.
In last week's Bucknell Invitational, freshman Hannah Basalone (Brea, Calif.) tied for ninth place individually, just eight shots off the lead. The Pirates placed 10th out of 18 teams.
Freshman Samantha Massei (Allen, Texas) recorded the first hole-in-one in program history, carding an eagle on the 140-yard 16th hole with a six-iron.
