
Osmun Named to BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - One day after shattering the Seton Hall record for kills, senior Sarah Osmun (Crystal Lake, Ill.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Osmun had a huge weekend for the Pirates, helping the team to its first-ever victory against Louisville with 21 kills on Sept. 26. In the win, she passed Jennifer Cheshire's record of 1,379 kills, set in 1997. Osmun, who also picked up 16 kills against Cincinnati on Sept. 25, now has 1,384 in her career.
Cincinnati senior Stephanie Niemer was named BIG EAST volleyball Player of the Week for the third straight time, while Notre Dame freshman Andrea McHugh was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday. Niemer's award makes it the fourth consecutive week that a Bearcat player has been named the league's player of the week. For McHugh, it is the second time this season that she has earned freshman of the week.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Allie Boaz, USF, Sr., RS
Led the Bulls to wins over Marquette and previously unbeaten Syracuse. Averaged 3.62 kills per set.
Vanessa Dorismond, Georgetown, Sr., MB
Recorded 13 kills in each of the Hoyas' three matches last week. Averaged 2.79 kills while hitting .327 in a 2-1 week.
Imani Harper, Pittsburgh, Sr., MH
Registered 19 kills and 10 blocks in win over George Washington and 21 kills in win over DePaul.
Kim Maroon, Villanova, Jr., L
Averaged 7.00 digs per set, including registering a season-best 29 digs at Connecticut. Helped VU to a 2-0 week.
Sarah Osmun, Seton Hall, Sr., OH
Broke the Seton Hall career record for kills - now has 1,384. Had 21 kills in program's first-ever win against Louisville.
