PIRATES GO STREAKING
Seton Hall has won four-straight and eight of their last nine matches overall. In addition, the Pirates 2-0 start is their best since 1994.
SHU CAGES PANTHERS
With its 3-1 win at Pittsburgh on Sep. 23, SHU claimed its first win against the Panthers since 2002 and first road win against their conference foe since 1998.
DIG IT
Libero Alyssas Warren was ranked fifth in the nation, averaging 5.95 digs per set. She is also ranked second in the conference with 5.88 digs per set and first in conference only games at a 6.88 average.
WROBEL AMONG SHU REJECTION LEADERS
With her strong BIG EAST opening weekend, senior Krissy Wrobel has moved up to eighth on the all-time blocks list. She is currently 15 rejections away from moving up to seventh in the record books.
WARREN RECEIVES HIGH HONOR
Sophomore Alyssa Warren became the first player in program history to be named BIG EAST Player of the Week after her record-breaking performance against Boston College on Sep. 16.
A RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE
Sophomore Alyssa Warren broke a 21-year old single match record after recording 45 digs in a five-set win over Boston College on Sep. 16. Warren shattered the old mark of 41, previously set by Laura Romeika in 1990.
MATUSIAK CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Senior Meghan Matusiak moved up to fourth place on the all-time kill list after a win over Boston College on Sep. 15. The right-side hitter is just the eighth player in program history to record 1,000 career kills.
THE ELUSIVE TRIPLE DOUBLE
Freshman Shelbey Manthorpe was a kill shy of posting the program's first ever triple-double against Western Michigan. The setter had nine kills, 35 assists, and 12 digs.
PRESEASON POLL
Seton Hall was picked sixth in this year's BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. It is the highest the Pirates have been slotted under fifth-year head coach Kris Zeiter. The Hall finished last season in a tie for sixth place.
WARREN IMPRESSES IN RED, WHITE & BLUE
For the second straight year, Alyssa Warren spent part of her summer as a member of the U.S. Junior National A2 Team, helping the squad to a bronze medal at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Tucson, Ariz.
NEW TO THE SHIP
SHU will welcome six newcomers to the program this fall including a pair of All-Americans in twin sisters Stacey and Shelbey Manthorpe. Shelbey is a setter who garnered Gatorade Player of the Year honors in the state of Pennsyvania. Stacey will vie for time at opposite and outside hitter.
BEYOND THE NET
Seton Hall is filming a season-long reality show on the 2011 volleyball season, entitled "Beyond the Net." Episodes will air exclusively on SHUPirates.com, the official website of Seton Hall Athletics.
