PISCATAWAY, N.J. - After two weeks off, the Seton Hall women's golf team will return to action at the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 14-15.
Head coach Sara Doell believes the break came at an opportune time and the Pirates are poised to have a strong tournament after getting in a good amount of practice time.
"After two weeks off from competition, the team has emerged rested and ready to compete this weekend at the Rutgers Invitational," stated Doell. "We have spent our practice time focusing on short game, ball striking and we competed in an inter-squad match this weekend to keep up their competitive edge."
The field includes 18 teams who will compete in the 36-hole event at The Rutgers Golf Course. Joining the Pirates and the Scarlet Knights are Boston College, Boston University, Central Connecticut State, Delaware, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hartford, Hofstra, LIU, Monmouth, Mt. St. Mary's, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, St. John's, USC-Upstate, and Wagner.
"The practice round will be key this week as we have three freshman in the line-up that have never seen this golf course," Doell said. "I look to Hannah and Christina to lead the team and help educate our younger players on the strategy of this course."
The field will play 18 holes on Friday and the final 18 holes on Saturday. Complete results of both days of action will be available at SHUPirates.com.
