Meredith Henze, Softball
Freshman Meredith Henze was named MVP of the Seton Hall Pirate Classic after batting .583 (7-for-12) with two homers and five RBI. Both of Henze's long balls came in a thrilling 4-3 victory over Lafayette on Saturday. Her first collegiate home run was a solo shot that tied the game at 1-1 in the third inning. With the Pirates trailing by a run in the bottom of the seventh, the Henze crushed a 3-2 pitch over the wall in centerfield for a walk-off win. In the championship game of the tournament against Sacred Heart, the third baseman went 3-for-3 from the dish, including a RBI single in the second inning that gave Seton Hall the lead.
