Men's Golf Releases 2011 Fall Schedule

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Head coach Clay White has announced the men's golf program's 2011 fall schedule, which begins on Sept. 4 at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y.
The schedule features a record seven tournaments including four familiar tournaments from 2010 and three new, challenging events.
"We're playing seven events in the fall, which we've never done before," said head coach Clay White. "In the northeast, I think fall golf is better than spring golf, so I wanted to challenge our team early with competition against some of the better teams in the east. If we play the schedule well, we have a great opportunity to really move up in the rankings."
After the beginning the season at Turning Stone for a third straight year, the Pirates will compete for the first time at the Maryland Intercollegiate on Sept. 12-13. Later that week, Seton Hall will make the short van ride down the Turnpike for the Rutgers Invitational, Sept. 16-17. It will be the seventh time in eight years that the Pirates have competed at Rutgers with Seton Hall winning the event in 2006 and 2008. The Pirates will compete for the first time at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted by N.C. State, Oct. 3-4. The following weekend, Oct. 8-9, Seton Hall will return to the Big-5 Classic hosted by Temple University. The Pirates will host the third annual Lincoln Mercury Intercollegiate at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, N.J., Oct. 16-17, before finshing the 2011 fall season, Oct. 22-23, at the Lehigh University Invitational, also a new tournament for Seton Hall.
