SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Entering its second season, the Seton Hall women's golf program looks to a bright future as team members continue to excel in summer tournaments.
Sophomore Hannah Basalone (Brea, Calif.) finished third in the Collegiate Players Tour event hosted at Empire Lakes Golf Course in Ranch Cucamonga, California, shooting rounds of 71-80-73 to finish third out of 15 players. This finish qualified her to compete in the CPT Championship located in Dallas, Texas in early August.
Incoming freshman Ali Kruse (Overland Park, Kan.) shot 79-74 to finish second in the PGA Junior Series Event hosted at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa.
Incoming freshman McKenzie Cutter (Waldorf, Md.) shot a 78 in the Maryland/Delaware Optimist International qualifier at Marlton Golf Course. Her second place finish qualifies her to compete in the 2011 Optimist International Junior Golf Tournament PGA National Resort in Palm Beach, Fla. at the end of July.
"I am excited to see several players on the 2011-2012 roster playing so well this summer," said head coach Sara Doell. "I know that the entire team is working hard on both their golf games and their fitness over the summer, and their hard work will show this fall as we look to be very competitive amongst the fields we will be competing in."
