Junior Scott Kalamar continued his late-season surge at the plate at the BIG EAST Championship, posting a team-high six hits (6-for-12, .500), knocking in two runs and scoring two more in the Pirates' three games. In a 6-1 first round drubbing of rival Rutgers, Kalamar sparked the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. After the Scarlet Knights brought the game level at 1-1 in the top of the third inning, Kalamar roped a two-out, two-run double in the bottom half to put the Pirates ahead for good. Against St. John's, the Bethlehem, Pa. native added a hit and a run scored before finishing the tournament with a two-hit day against Notre Dame.
