
Men's Golf to Take On Temple Invitational

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to the links this Saturday for two rounds of golf as part of the 2013 Temple Invitational at Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.
Seton Hall will be among a field of 17 teams taking on the par-70, 6,670-yard North Course, which also includes host Temple, La Salle, Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph's, Binghamton, Brown, Cincinnati, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fordham, Hartford, Harvard, Princeton, Rhode Island, Richmond and St. John's.
Seton Hall has played in this tournament, formerly known as the Big 5 Classic, in five of the last six years, including the last three. Last season, Seton Hall finished 17th with an 89-over-par, 325-324-649, 40 shots behind the champion, Hartford. Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) was the low scorer for the Pirates with an 18-over-par, 78-80-158. In 2007 and 2008, Seton Hall recorded back-to-back second place finishes at this tournament.
This year, the Pirates will bring freshman Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines, juniors Derrick Kim (New City, N.Y.) and JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.), sophomore Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) and senior Gary Dunne (Wicklow, Ireland.
Seton Hall is coming off a fifth place finish at the 2013 John Dallio Memorial Tournament at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, Ill. The fifth place finish is the Pirates' first top-five since winning the Manor Intercollegiate on April 14, 2012. Go had Seton Hall's low tournament score for a fourth straight event, finishing with an 11-over-par, 73-77-77-227. The freshman tied for 13th place among 63 individual golfers.
