It was the first time in 21 regular season matches that Seton Hall (0-4) has failed to record a point.
The match of the day came from the #1 doubles slot, where Rocio Portela (Demetrio Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) and Chloe Sher (Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong) were vying to extend their overall winning streak to five.
Up against Princeton's duo of Lindsay Graff and Joan Cannon, the pair of juniors battled their way into a tiebreak after forcing a stalemate following the first 14 games. In the decider, Graff and Cannon won seven of 10 points to secure an 8-7 (3) victory.
The loss is the first in a dual match this spring for Portela and Sher, who had won their previous four matches by an average of a five-game margin.
Graff is one half of the third-ranked doubles pair in the Northeast region according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, along with teammate Amanda Muliawan.
Muliawan is also the top-rated singles player in the region (85th nationally) and accounted for one of six straight-set singles victories for the Tigers on the day from the #2 position.
The Pirates will travel to Annapolis, Md. for two matches next weekend, beginning with a showdown against Towson on Saturday, February 23. Start-time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
