Student-Athlete Mentoring Program
2/21/2013 12:00:00 AM | Pirate Blue
This endeavor was spearheaded by loyal Pirate Blue supporter Jim DiPietropolo, Class of '96. Jim contacted Bryan Felt, Associate Athletics Director/ Development & External Affairs, with this idea to help student-athletes leverage the expertise of successful alumni. In working with Bryan to bring together a prestigious group of alumni and student-athletes, Jim hopes the program will "provide student-athletes with practical advice on how to approach their individual career objectives, networking and highlighting their athletic achievements in their careers."
The program will consist of meetings between the mentors and mentees, initial career advice, resume review, interview preparation and overall communication about life aspirations. Athletic Director, Patrick Lyons, is excited about the Student-Athlete Mentoring Program and hopes the program will continue to grow throughout the years. "We see this program as an opportunity for our student-athletes to gain invaluable support and networking opportunities as they develop on both a personal and professional level. We are grateful to the Seton Hall alumni who are taking this opportunity to give back to the University who helped prepare them for the lives they lead today."
The development of our program will include valuable feedback, advice, and input from the mentors, the student-athletes, the coaching staff and athletic department.
