UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Seton Hall men’s golf team shot a final round 312 to finish 13
th at the 2013 Rutherford Intercollegiate on the campus of Penn State University. For the three-round event, the Pirates finished 82-over-par with a 309-313-312-934. Binghamton rallied to win the team championship with a 287 in Sunday’s final round to finish at 38-over-par. Freshman
Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) led the Pirates for the weekend, finishing in a 17
th place tie among 75 individual golfers. He shot a 12-over-par, 76-75-74-225. Xavier’s Tanapol Vattanapisit won the individual crown at 3-over-par.
JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.) saved his best round for Sunday, finishing the event at 21-over-par with a 78-80-76-234. He tied for 47
th place overall.
Junior Gary Dunne (Wicklow, Ireland) finished just one stroke behind Harper with a 22-over-par, 76-77-82-235.
David Cha (Carrollton, Texas) and Brian Dempster (Robbinsville, N.J.) rounded out the Pirates’ scoring and were separated by just one stroke. Cha finished with a 29-over-par, 81-81-80-242, while Dempster had a 30-over-par, 79-81-83-243.
Seton Hall will conclude the 2013 spring season with the BIG EAST Championship, April 28-30, at Reunion Resort and Golf Club, just outside Orlando, Fla.
