LEXINGTON, KY. - Seton Hall women's volleyball head coach Allison Yaeger was named AVCA Division I All-East Coach Region Coach of the Year on Tuesday.
The honor comes on the heels of her and her assistant coach Allie Matters being named BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.
In only her third year at the helm, Yaeger guided the Pirates to a 28-8 final overall record, the second-most wins in program history. Additionally, it's only the third time in Seton Hall history that the Pirates had a single-digit loss season. Seton Hall's 15-3 BIG EAST Conference record is also a team-best. The Pirates' prior record for conference wins was only eight, a number The Hall nearly doubled this season. Seton Hall qualified for the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2011, and finished as the tournament runner-up for the third time ever and first time since 1994.
Most notably, Yaeger's Pirates made their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2014. The Hall earned an at-large bid and faced #11 BYU in Tucson, Ariz. on Dec. 4.
Seton Hall's improvement of 12 wins from 2013 is tied for the fourth-best turnaround in the NCAA this year and further stamped Yaeger's impressive credentials for Coach of the Year.
