NEW YORK, N.Y. - Senior Josh Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
The honor is the fourth straight recognition for the Pirates' ace. It's the second time Prevost has received the Honor Roll distinction and he has also twice been named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week.
As he has in each of the prior three weekends, Prevost led Seton Hall to victory in the opening game of its series with James Madison with another quality start. The 6-foot-8 right-hander pitched seven innings in Seton Hall's easy 15-4 victory. Prevost struck out six and walked only one. To date, he has a BIG EAST-best 26 strikeouts and just four walks. Prevost also leads the conference with a perfect 4-0 record.
Creighton's Mike Gerber was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Butler's Billy Laing earned BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week recognition. Those joining Prevost on the Honor Roll include: Butler's Will Amador, Xavier's Vinny Nittoli and both Patrick Camporini and Matt Hollenbeck of Georgetown.
Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, March 14 for its 2014 home opener. The Pirates will face Manhattan for the first game of a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
