
Volleyball Sweeps St. Francis, 3-0

Hansen contributed a team-best .643 attack percentage and was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts all weekend long.
Stacey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) added her third straight double-double with a team-high 14 kills and 14 digs. Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) had a match-high 36 assists to go with seven digs. Tessa Fournier (Redondo Beach, Calif.) had a team-high 16 digs.
With the score tied at seven in set one, Seton Hall scored four straight to take an 11-7 lead and never looked back. A kill by Simona Sekulova (Auckland, New Zealand) gave the Pirates an 18-12 lead. The advantage was extended to nine points when an attack error by St. Francis' Kayla Jeckell put Seton Hall in set point at 24-15. Another attack error two points later gave the Pirates set one, 25-16.
St. Francis took a 2-1 lead early in set two, but it would be their last lead of the set. Seton Hall scored the next five points to take a 6-2 advantage and the rout was on. Clinging to a slim 8-7 lead, the Pirates went on an 8-2 run to take a commanding 16-9 lead. A kill by Hansen put the Pirates in set point and a kill by Stacey Manthorpe gave Seton Hall a 25-15 set two victory.
Seton Hall (7-3) trailed for most of set three. Down 22-19, the Pirates scored four of the next five points to tie the set at 23. A kill by St. Francis' Maria Cup put the Red Flash in set point, but Molly Grammer (Center Valley, Pa.) responded with a kill for Seton Hall to tie the set at 24. Breanna Opera put St. Francis again in set point, but Hansen drove home a point to tie the score at 25. St. Francis had set point three more times at 26-25, 27-26 and 28-27, but Seton Hall tied the score all three times. Finally, with the score tied at 28, a kill by Stacey Manthorpe put the Pirates in match point and a Red Flash attack error gave set three to Seton Hall, 30-28.
The Pirates will return to action tomorrow next weekend when they host their second tournament of the season, the Seton Hall Classic. The Hall will host Fordham on Friday and both Dartmouth and Middle Tennessee State on Saturday.
