The Field:
The 2015 field features 15 teams. In addition to Seton Hall and host Princeton, competing teams include all Ivy League schools, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, and Yale. Additional competitors include golfers from Bucknell, Delaware, Georgetown, Lehigh, Navy, Quinnipiac and Rutgers.
The Course:
Founded in 1895, Springdale Golf Club is one of the oldest in New Jersey. Designed by Gerard Lambert and revised by William Flynn in 1926, the course is well-known for being a walkable course with superior conditions and playability. The property, which was originally private farmland, was purchased by the Class of 1886 and gifted to Princeton University with the expectation of establishing one of the first courses in the region. The private club has a close relationship with the University, and counts many university professors, administrators and students among its members.
Last Time at Princeton:
Ali Kruse and Karlie Zabrosky (Erie, Pa.) finished at 15-over-par to lead the Seton Hall women's golf team to a fifth place finish at last year's event. Collectively, Seton Hall started with a 17-over-par, 305, in round one and then had a pair of identical 23-over-par, 311's, in rounds two and three. For the three-round event, the Pirates finished at 63-over-par with a 305-311-311-927. They finished in fifth place among 12 teams, 31 strokes behind the team champion, Yale.
The Lineup:
This weekend, the Pirates will go with Megan Tenhundfeld (Loveland, Ohio), Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio), Zabrosky, McKenzie Cutter (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.), in that order.
Tee Times:
The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and a final 18 on Sunday. Seton Hall is paired with Penn and Columbia in the first group on the course for Saturday's first round. Fouse will get the Pirates started at 7:45 a.m.
Last Tournament:
Zabrosky fired a 1-over-par, 71, in Sunday's final round as the Seton Hall women's golf team finished fifth at the 2015 Bucknell Invitational. Zabrosky shaved 10 strokes off her second round score to lead The Hall in round three.
Collectively, Seton Hall shot a 26-over-par, 306, in round three, by far its best round of the tournament. The Pirates finished in fifth place with a 93-over-par, 313-314-306-933.
