Sophia Coffey Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Seton Hall freshman Sophia Coffey (Sierra Madre, Calif.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
Coffey helped the Pirates to a road split of a pair of BIG EAST Conference matches last weekend. The setter narrowly missed a double-double with team-highs of 27 assists and nine digs to go with four kills and a .375 attack percentage in just three sets at Xavier on Friday. On Saturday at Butler, she had arguably her career-best match. Coffey recorded career-highs of 57 assists and 20 digs in a four-set victory. Her double-double is her team-leading 10th of the season.
Coffey's 57 assists are the most recorded in a four-set match by a BIG EAST player in conference games this season.
Creighton's Maggie Baumert was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Creighton's Jaali Winters earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors. Those joining Coffey on the Honor Roll include: Butler's Mary Striedl, DePaul's Callie Huebener, Marquette's Meghan Niemann and Xavier's Sofia Peterson.
Coffey and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 14 when they travel to Villanova. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
