Thelen Named to BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall women's volleyball sophomore Abby Thelen (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

Thelen was instrumental in leading the Pirates to a four-set victory at Providence on Friday. Against the Friars, she had one of her career-best matches, recording a career-high 20 kills with only two attack errors for an impressive .529 attack percentage. She also had five digs and a block. On Sunday, Thelen had four kills in three sets at Creighton to close out the weekend. For the week, she led The Hall with 3.43 kills and 3.50 points per set.

Butler's Anna Logan was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Creighton's Brittany Witt earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors. Those joining Thelen on the Honor Roll include: Creighton's Lauren Smith, Xavier's Sofia Peterson and both Allie Barber and Taylor Louis of Marquette.

Thelen and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Friday, October 21 when they travel to Cincinnati for a match at Xavier. Match time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
