Tessa Fournier Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall women's volleyball senior Tessa Fournier (Redondo Beach, Calif.) was named BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday.

Playing in an emotional final home match, Fournier was fantastic defensively against St. John's on Saturday. The two-time defending Libero of the Year recorded a match-high 22 digs in only three sets for a 7.33 digs per set average. Fournier also had three assists and a service ace in the victory. The win, coupled with a Villanova loss on Sunday at Creighton, clinched a berth for Seton Hall in the 2016 BIG EAST Championship.

Villanova's Regan Lough was named Freshman of the Week. Members of the Weekly Honor Roll include: Butler's Anna Logan, Creighton's Jaali Winters, Georgetown's Symone Speech, Marquette's Taylor Louis and Xavier's Abbey Bessler.

Fournier and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Friday, November 25 when they take on top-seeded Creighton in the semifinals of the 2016 BIG EAST Championship at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. Match time is scheduled for 12:35 p.m. ET.
