
Seton Hall Headed to Stanford Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- The BIG EAST Champion Seton Hall women's golf team will compete in the Stanford Regional of the 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, May 5-7.
The Stanford Regional will be played at the University's own course in Stanford, California.
"We're very exciting to be on our way to Stanford," said head coach Sara Doell. "I couldn't be more proud with the effort this team put forth last weekend. I'm glad we have an opportunity to continue our season and proudly represent Seton Hall at the NCAA's for a third straight year."
Seton Hall is the #18 seed. USC is the top seed, followed by Arkansas and host Stanford.
Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition, and all national championships policies apply. The Bryan Region will be played at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. Texas A&M will serve as the host institution. The Shoal Creek Region will be played at Shoal Creek Club in Shoal Creek, Ala. The University of Alabama will serve as host.
The national championship will be held May 20-25 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. and will be hosted by the University of Oregon.
Seton Hall won entrance into the prestigious championship event by winning the BIG EAST Conference championship yesterday for a third year in a row. The Pirates defeated Georgetown by 12 strokes to claim its third title.
Last year, Seton Hall was the #16 seed in the 18-team Raleigh Regional in Raleigh, N.C. The Pirates finished with a 74-over-par, 309-318-311-938, to place 17th.
