Tenhundfeld Shines Through Rain in NCAA Second Round

STANFORD, CALIF. - For a second straight round, senior Megan Tenhundfeld (Loveland, Ohio) provided a strong performance, shooting a 3-over-par, 74, to lead the Seton Hall women's golf team in round two of the 2016 NCAA Stanford Regional on Friday.
Despite cold and rainy weather all round, Tenhundfeld managed to record two birdies and 11 pars to lead the Pirates for a second straight day. Through two rounds, Tenhundfeld is tied for 39th place among 96 individual golfers with a 7-over-par, 75-74-149.
Collectively, the Pirates fired a 31-over-par, 315, in round two, five strokes more than they shot in round one, but equaling exactly their average for the year. Seton Hall remains in 18th place and trails UC-Riverside by six strokes for 17th and Richmond by seven strokes for 16th place. Through two rounds, The Hall is 57-over-par with a 310-315-625. Host Stanford currently leads the Regional by two strokes at 1-over-par. The top six in the field of 18 teams will qualify for the National Championship in Eugene, Ore.
Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio) birdied hole No. 12 in route to an 8-over-par, 79, on Friday. The sophomore is currently 15-over-par through two rounds with a 78-79-157.
Senior Karlie Zabrosky (Erie, Pa.) and sophomore Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.) each shot a 10-over-par, 81 in the second round. Zabrosky was one of three Pirates to birdie the third hole, but suffered through a trio of double-bogeys. Through two rounds, she is 20-over-par with a consistent 81-81-162. Fouse had a team-high three birdies on Friday, but endured a pair of double-bogeys. She is 21-over-par for the tournament with an 82-81-163.
Senior McKenzie Cutter (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) rounded out the Pirates scoring on Friday with an 11-over-par, 82. Over the two days, she is 16-over-par with a 76-82-158.
The Pirates will tee off at the same time tomorrow, 9:20 a.m. with Fouse getting the team started. Seton Hall will again be paired with golfers from Richmond and UC-Riverside.
