Cvelbar Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall sophomore Maggie Cvelbar (Euclid, Ohio) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
Cvelbar has emerged as a double-double machine since the start of BIG EAST play for the Pirates. A key cog in the offense as one of Seton Hall's two setters, she has also taken her defensive game to a new level, regularly reaching double-figures in digs. On Wednesday vs. Georgetown, Cvelbar had a team-high 21 assists to go with two digs. On Friday however, she erupted for a team-high 21 assists to go with 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. On Saturday, she had 15 assists and a team-high 11 digs at Butler.
Marquette's Allie Barber was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Villanova's Allison Fitzgerald was named Defensive Player of the Week. Butler's Natalie Ravenell was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Those joining Cvelbar on the Honor Roll include: Butler's Makayla Ferguson, Providence's Addison Root, St. John's Amanda Sanabia and Villanova's Amanda Pedersen-Henry.
The Pirates will return to action on Wednesday, October 11 when they host BIG EAST rival Villanova in Walsh Gym. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
