2017 Beefsteak Tip-Off Dinner A Record Success

South Orange, N.J. - The ninth annual Pirate Blue Beefsteak Dinner, held October 21 in historic Walsh Gymnasium, set a new event record, raising $132,000 in support of Seton Hall's student-athletes.
In addition to serving as a fundraiser, the signature Pirate Blue event was an opportunity for Pirates fans, Pirate Blue supporters and alumni to meet the 2017-18 men's and women's basketball teams, who mingled with everyone during the cocktail hour and then were introduced by their respective coaches after dinner. Both teams are excited for their upcoming seasons; the nationally ranked men are vying for a third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and the women are seeking a third NCAA bid in four seasons.
"I would like to thank all of our attendees as well as our event sponsors for making the Beefsteak a record success!" Director of Athletics Pat Lyons said. "The event's capacity crowd shows how excited our fans are for both of our basketball teams this year. I would like to personally thank everyone for attending as well as everyone who participated in the silent auction; they have helped us make sure that our student-athletes have the best experience possible."
The 2017-18 men's & women's basketball season tip-off in 15 days as the women host Saint Peter's on Friday, Nov. 10 at Walsh Gymnasium at 1 p.m., and later that evening the men host Fairleigh Dickinson at Prudential Center at 6:30 p.m. You can purchase men's basketball season tickets and women's basketball season tickets online now.
