Thelen Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall junior Abby Thelen (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
It's the fourth time this season that Thelen has received the prestigious distinction.
Thelen led Seton Hall in kills in both matches last week and was the driving force behind the Pirate offense. On Friday at Villanova, she had 12 kills and only three attack errors. In Saturday's victory at Georgetown, Thelen erupted for 17 kills to go with two digs and three blocks. She reached the 15-kill mark for the 13th time this season and the 22nd time in her career.
St. John's Julia Cast was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Creighton's Brittany Witt was named Defensive Player of the Week. St. John's Kayley Wood was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Those joining Thelen on the Honor Roll include: Creighton's Jaali Winters, Georgetown's Symone Speech, Marquette's Allie Barber and Villanova's Allison Fitzgerald.
The Pirates will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 11 when they make the short trip to Queens, N.Y. for a contest at St. John's. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET.
