
Seton Hall Men's Golf Announces 2017 Fall Schedule

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Head Coach Clay White announced the 2017 Seton Hall men's golf fall schedule on Tuesday. The Pirates will participate in five events this fall.
The Hall will open the 2017-18 academic year with the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, hosted by Colgate University at Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y., Sept. 9-10. It will be the first time the Pirates have competed at the three-round event named after the son of Seton Hall assistant coach Ian Lagowitz. Alex played collegiate golf at Colgate.
Two weeks later, the Pirates will head to Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Conn. for the Hartford Hawks Invitational for a sixth straight year. The Pirates will play three rounds of golf over two days, Sept. 18-19. Historically, this has been a successful event for the Pirates. Last year, Seton Hall placed third with an 11-under-par, 282-283-565, breaking its two-round record for a par-72 course. Three Pirates shot under par for the tournament. Returnees Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) and Alex Chalk (Castle Douglas, Scotland) each shot 4-under-par for the event and tied for seventh overall.
For the second straight year, the Pirates will head to The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational in Bridgeport, W.Va., Oct. 9-10. Last year, The Hall tied for 10th in the competitive field with a 31-over-par, 303-297-295-895. Nagai and Chalk had the best scores among returnees, shooting a 9-over-par to tie for 39th place. Nagai shot a 1-under-par, 71, in the final round.
Two weeks later, the Pirates will play in the Georgetown Intercollegiate in Beallsville, Md. At the Members Club at Four Streams, Oct. 16-17. It will be the first time since the fall of 2002 that Seton Hall has participated in the event.
The Pirates will wrap up the fall season with a new tournament, the Little Rock Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Arkansas – Little Rock, Oct. 23-24. The three-round event will be played at Chenal Country Club.
