
Five Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. – Seton Hall women's golfers Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.), Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio), Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa.), Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.) and Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) were named to the 2016-167 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team on Wednesday.
A total of 952 women's collegiate golfers were recognized across Divisions I, II and III. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA to qualify is 3.50.
The five honorees represent a program-high for Seton Hall. The Pirates had three All-American Scholars each year from 2013 through 2016. Pantelas earns the status for the third consecutive season, while Fouse earns her second such recognition.
The honors cap an impressive year academically for the Pirates. The women's golf team's 3.736 grade point average was the highest of any Seton Hall athletic program in 2016-17. Their cumulative GPA also leads Seton Hall.
