Seton Hall Adds Acevedo, Tait

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall head coach Clay White announced Friday that Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) and Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) have joined the men's golf team at Seton Hall University and be eligible to compete this fall.
A two-year team captain for Brandeis High School in San Antonio, Texas, Acevedo netted San Antonio All-Area First Team honors all four years. A three-time Texas 6A High School State Qualifier, he averaged 72.4 strokes per round as a senior and posted five victories. Posting a perfect 4.0 grade point average in high school, Acevedo was named to the Texas 6A All-State All-Academic First Team in 2016-17.
Tait becomes the third current Pirate from the United Kingdom, joining sophomores Alex Chalk and Alex McAuley. The last two years, Tait has won individual and team state high school championships, setting the course record in the Individual State High School Championship last year. His many impressive accolades include a career-best round of an 8-under-par, 63.
The Pirates will begin the fall season on Saturday, September 9 for the first two of three rounds at the Ian Lagowitz Memorial in Hamilton, N.Y.
