
Sager Shares the Lead; Pirates Fourth at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, PA. – Sophomore Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa.) shares the individual lead of the 2017 Nittany Lion Invitational after two rounds, and has led the Seton Hall women's golf team to a tie for fourth place with 18 holes to play.

Sager has been brilliant through two rounds and currently shares the individual lead at 2-under par with Penn State's Madelein Herr and Maryland's Laura Van Respaille. Through two rounds, Sager shot a 70-72-142. Her first round 70 is the fourth sub-par round of her collegiate career.

Collectively, the Pirates are tied for fourth with Princeton at 15-over-par. The Hall shot a 292-299-591 through two rounds, and it trails the team leader, Penn State, by 17 strokes entering Sunday's final round. Seton Hall's first round, 292, is the third-lowest single-round, par-72 score in program history.

Freshman Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) was consistent in her second collegiate tournament, and it tied for 24th place with a 6-over-par, 74-76-150.

The dynamic senior duo of Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio) and Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.) are separated by just a stroke with 18 holes remaining. Pantelas is tied for 36th place with an 8-over-par, 78-74-152, while Fouse is 9-over-par with a 76-77-152.

Rounding out the Pirates' team scoring is sophomore Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio), who is 10-over-par with a 72-82-154.

Sophomore Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.) is having a strong tournament while playing as an individual. Staudt is currently tied for 16th place overall with a 4-over-par, 75-73-148.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Penn State, the field is comprised of 12 other teams including: Bucknell, Columbia, Delaware, Harvard, Maryland, Ohio University, Pennsylvania, Princeton,
Rutgers, South Florida, Yale and Youngstown State.

Tee Times:
The field will play two rounds (36 holes) on Saturday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and a single, final round on Sunday.Â
