Coffey Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Sophia Coffey (Sierra Madre, Calif.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
Coffey has been the offense's primary catalyst since Seton Hall shifted to a 5-1 offense recently. The Pirates' setter collected a match-high 31 assists to go with three digs and a service ace in The Hall's three-set victory over DePaul on Friday. On Saturday, Coffey erupted for a double-double, including a match-high 40 assists to go with 10 digs in only three sets against No. 19 Marquette. For the weekend, she averaged 11.83 and 2.17 digs per set.
Xavier's Laura Grossman was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Marquette's Martha Konovodoff was named Defensive Player of the Week. Villanova's Clare Delaplane was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Those joining Coffey on the Honor Roll include: Creighton's Megan Ballenger, Marquette's Anna Haak, St. John's Erica Di Maulo and Villanova's Regan Lough.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday, October 19 when they host BIG EAST rival Georgetown at Walsh Gym. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
