
Pirates Tied for Seventh after "Staudt" First Round

NEW HAVEN, CONN. – Junior Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.) fired a 4-over-par, 75, in the opening round of the Yale Women's Intercollegiate and has paced the Seton Hall women's golf team to a seventh place tie after 18 holes.
Staudt is currently tied for 11th place among 95 individual golfers. She trails the individual leader, Pennsylvania's Mary Shin by seven strokes entering Saturday's second round.
Collectively, the Pirates are tied with Boston College and Harvard for seventh place after a 26-over-par, 310, on Friday. Defending champion Stirling and Boston University are tied for the team lead at 19-over-par, only seven strokes ahead of The Hall. Two BIG EAST schools, St. John's and Butler, are also in the field, and are tied for 13th at 42-over-par.
A trio of Pirates are currently tied for 27th place overall. Juniors Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa.) and Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio), as well as freshman Sarah Fouratt (Pasadena, Calif.), who is competing as an individual, all shot a 7-over-par, 78.
Junior Carolina Ronchel Salas (Huelva, Spain) is tied for 35th place following an 8-over-par, 79, while sophomore Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) is tied for 42nd place after a 9-over-par, 80.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Yale, the field is comprised of 16 other teams including: Albany, Boston College, Boston University, Brown, Hartford, Harvard, Hofstra, LIU-Brooklyn, Navy, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Stirling and Wagner. A pair of other BIG EAST schools, Butler and St. John's, are also a part of the large field.
Tee Times:
The field will play one round each day for three days. For Friday's first round, Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Navy and Pennsylvania, and will tee off of the first hole with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m.
