Tosoni, Williams Set Pool Records in Setback at Rider

Lawrenceville, N.J. – Junior Josh Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) and senior Dakota Williams (Noank, Conn.) set pool records on Saturday, but the Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team suffered a tightly-contested 163-137 setback in the 2018-19 season opener at Rider.

Tosoni swam a 57.45 in the 100 breast and a 2:06.21 in the 200 breast to set pool records, while Williams posted a 20.88 in the 50 free to break the previous top time at Coppola Pool.

A total of four different Pirates won events on Saturday including two apiece from Williams, Tosoni and freshman Joe Gibson (Chicago, Ill.). Gibson took the top spot in the 200 free (1:44.13) and 500 free (4:44.18), while senior Kyle Nash took home the 200 fly with a time of 1:55.37.

Up next, the Pirates visit Montclair State on Friday, Oct. 12 for a 5 p.m. non-conference meet.
