
Win Helps Power Pirates Up Leader Board at Yale

NEW HAVEN, CONN. – Junior Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) shot an even-par, 71, on Saturday to help move the Seton Hall women's golf team up to sixth place in the team standings of the Yale Women's Intercollegiate.
Win's even-par round is the best of the tournament thus far for the Pirates and vaults her up the individual leader board. Through two rounds, Win is in 13th place among 95 individual golfers and trails co-leaders Kaitlee Shee of St. John's and Mary Shin of Penn by seven strokes with 18 holes remaining. Win currently has a team-best 7-over-par with a 78-71-149.
Collectively, the Pirates shaved 11 strokes off their first round score to card a 15-over-par, 299, in round two. Entering Sunday's final round, Seton Hall trails the team leader, Pennsylvania by nine strokes. Two other BIG EAST schools are also in the field. St. John's trails The Hall by 24 strokes, while Butler is 26 strokes behind.
Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.) fired a 6-over-par, 77, in round two, and is currently tied for 18th place overall. For the tournament, the junior is 10-over-par with a 75-77-152.
Junior Carolina Ronchel Salas (Huelva, Spain) is only one stroke behind Staudt after an impressive 3-over-par, 74, on Saturday. The transfer from LIU-Brooklyn is currently tied for 21st place overall, just one stroke behind Staudt with an 11-over-par, 79-74-153.
Sophomore Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) shaved three strokes off her first round score to finish with a 6-over-par, 77, in round two. For the weekend, she is 15-over-par with an 80-77-157. Junior Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa) is only one stroke behind Kness for the tournament with a 16-over-par, 78-80-158.
Competing as an individual, freshman Sarah Fouratt (Pasadena, Calif.) has shot a pair of 7-over-par, 78's, through two rounds. She is currently 14-over-par with a 78-78-156.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Yale, the field is comprised of 16 other teams including: Albany, Boston College, Boston University, Brown, Hartford, Harvard, Hofstra, LIU-Brooklyn, Navy, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Stirling and Wagner. A pair of other BIG EAST schools, Butler and St. John's, are also a part of the large field.
Tee Times:
The field will play one round each day for three days. For Friday's first round, Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Navy and Pennsylvania, and will tee off of the first hole with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m.
