Dolezal Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall's Eden Dolezal (La Porte, Ind.) was named BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
Dolezal led the Pirates in digs and digs per set last week, and provided instant energy when on the floor for Seton Hall in both contests. The libero had a match-high 18 digs in only three sets at No. 10 Creighton on Friday. On Sunday at Providence, Dolezal again led all players with a career-high 26 digs in the Pirates' five-set road victory.
It's the first time in her young career that Dolezal has earned a weekly BIG EAST recognition.
Creighton's Jaali Winters was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Georgetown's Symone Speech was named Defensive Player of the Week. Members of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Creighton's Madelyn Cole, Georgetown's Alyssa Sinnette, Marquette's Jenna Rosenthal, St. John's Amanda Sanabia and Xavier's Meredith Klare.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday, October 12 when they host DePaul at Walsh Gym. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
