
Thelen Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Abby Thelen (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday.
Thelen had one of her best weekends of the year. The outside hitter erupted for a match-high 20 kills, with only three attack errors, and a .459 attack percentage against Providence on Friday. Proving versatile defensively as well, she also had a season-high five blocks in the victory over the Friars. On Saturday against No. 9 Creighton, Thelen tied for the match-high with 13 kills to go with six digs in only three sets.
For the weekend, she averaged 4.71 kills and 5.21 points per set with a .338 attack percentage.
Marquette's Hope Werch was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Martha Konovodoff was named Defensive Player of the Week. Creighton's Kari Zumach was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Those joining Thelen on the Honor Roll include: Georgetown's Alyssa Sinnette, St. John's Amanda Sanabia, Villanova's Allie Olsonoski and Xavier's Laura Grossman.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday, November 9 when they host local BIG EAST rival St. John's at Walsh Gym on Senior Night. Match time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
