
Cale's 20 Points Leads Pirates Past New Haven

South Orange, N.J. - Sophomore Myles Cale (Middletown, Del.) scored 20 points, making four of six three-point field goal attempts, and sophomore Taurean Thompson (New York, N.Y.) added in 13 points as the Seton Hall men's basketball team defeated New Haven, 73-62, in an exhibition game Friday at Walsh Gymnasium.
Cale was 7-for-10 from the field overall and also made both of his free throw attempts while also grabbing eight rebounds. Thompson was 6-for-12 from the field, sank one three-pointer and grabbed five rebounds.
The point guard tandem of junior Quincy McKnight (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Anthony Nelson (New York, N.Y.) each distributed five assists. Sophomore Sandro Mamukelashvili (Tbilisi, Georgia) blocked five shots in addition to his eight points and five rebounds.
The Pirates now turn their attention back to the regular season and a Gavitt Tip-Off Games matchup against Nebraska Wednesday night in Lincoln, Neb. Game time is 7:30 p.m., Eastern, and the game will be televised on Big Ten Network. Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin will have the radio call on AM970 The Answer, simulcast on the Pirate Sports Network.
