
Pirates Fall at BIG EAST Rival St. John’s

Queens, N.Y. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team fell 7-0 at BIG EAST rival St. John's on Friday afternoon at the National Tennis Center.
Sophomores Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) and Michal Matson (St. Albans, New Zealand) battled to even the doubles score, but ultimately suffered a 6-4 defeat as the Pirates (5-8, 1-1 BIG EAST) fell and the Red Storm (11-5, 2-1 BIG EAST) took the doubles point.
During singles play, Taal and junior Thandy Kangwa (Fort Myers, Fla.) went point-for-point with St. John's at the No. 2 and No. 3 flights, but could not keep pace in the third set.
Looking ahead, the Pirates will look to get back on the right track on Senior Day against Marquette on Friday, April 13 at 3 p.m. Prior to the match, Seton Hall will honor its two seniors, Katie Kim (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Luize Strike (Riga, Latvia).
