SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall head coach Natalie Desjardins officially announced Friday the additions of Maria Contreras Luna (Estepona, Spain), Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) and Carolina Ronchel Salas (Huelva, Spain) to the women's golf team. All three will begin play for the Pirates this fall.
A native of Malaga, Spain, Contreras Luna placed second at three U25 competitions in recent years across the Atlantic Ocean, including the International Championship of Andalusia Women's Doubles San Roque, the Andalusian International Women's Championship U25 WAGR El Chaparral and the Sotogrande International Young Talents Trophy.
Fouratt was a dominant high school performer in Santa Maria, California. She recorded seven top-10 finishes on the SC Junior PGA Toyota Tour and was a four-time PAC-8 Conference Most Valuable Player and First Team selection.
Ronchel Salas will have two years of eligibility remaining after transferring to Seton Hall from LIU-Brooklyn. The junior was a top player for the Blackbirds in her first two collegiate years, being named an All-Northeast Conference golfer both years. Last year, she was named to the All-NEC First Team and had six top-10 finishes.
