NEW YORK – Seton Hall senior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) was named BIG EAST Men's Golfer of the Week on Thursday.
Yeom was brilliant at the Hartford Hawks Invitational, tying for second place among 112 individual golfers, and finishing just one stroke behind the individual champion, Central Florida's Bobby Bai. For the tournament, he shot an 8-under-par, 67-69-136, which breaks former teammate Lloyd Jefferson Go's two-round, par-72 Seton Hall record by two strokes. Go set the record at this tournament in 2016.
Yeom's performance is his seventh career sub-par tournament, which ties for third-most in Seton Hall history, and his fifth top-5 finish.
Yeom and the rest of the Pirates will return to the links September 28-30 for three rounds of golf at the Villanova Invitational at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.
