
Depth Shines in Dominant Win at Monmouth

West Long Branch, N.J. – A total of nine different Pirates won an individual race on Thursday night as the Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team delivered a dominating 147-87 victory at Monmouth.
Senior Lior Grubert (Yehud-Monosson, Israel) won the 500 free with a time of 4:46.64 to register his 50th individual win over the course of his career. He was also a member of the winning (in exhibition) 200 free relay (1:26.68).
Junior Josh Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) won the 1000 free after swimming a 9:57.26, and was part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:35.03). Fellow junior Sam Hendrix (Hillsborough, N.J.) was also part of the medley win, and finished ahead of the field in the 100 fly after posting a time of 51.75.
Newcomer Thomas Staes (Belgium) picked up a win in the 100 breast with an impressive mark of 59.46, while sophomore Liam Cosgrove (Sea Girt, N.J.) won the 100 back (52.12) and was on the 200 medley contingent.
Sophomore Joe Ianelli (Ventnor, N.J.) picked up exhibition wins in the 1 & 3-meter dives with respective scores of 248.10 and 236.93.
Up next, the Pirates return home to take on St. Peter's on Friday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m. inside Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.
