Â
The Seton Hall Lineup:
Â
Last Time at Georgetown:Â
Four Pirates shot 2-over-par or lower, led by Deven Ramachandran's (San Rafael, Calif.) even-under-par, 71, as the Pirates vaulted up the team leader board to finish second at the Georgetown Intercollegiate last year. Ramachandran had a second consecutive strong round, finishing his round with two birdies and 12 straight pars. He tied for 22nd overall with a 6-over-par, 78-70-71-219.
Â
Collectively, the Pirates had the best final round of the field, shooting a 4-over-par, 288, on Tuesday. The Hall entered the day in fourth place, but today's performance allowed it to jump over two BIG EAST opponents to finish second for the three-round event. The Pirates ended the tournament with a 10-over-par, 290-284-288-862, just six strokes behind team champion, Princeton. BIG EAST foes Georgetown and Butler finished six and nine strokes behind the Pirates respectively.
Â
Last Time Out:
Ramachandran fired an even-par, 72, in Tuesday's final round to lift the Pirates to a fourth-place finish at the Hamptons Intercollegiate.
Â
Ramachandran's 72 was the low round of the tournament for the Pirates. He was 2-under-par on the back nine today, using an eagle on the par-5, No. 13 hole to fuel his strong round. For the tournament, Ramachandran tied for ninth place with a 13-over-par, 81-76-72-229. He finished nine strokes behind the individual champion, Oregon State's Shawn Lu. It's Ramachandran's second career top-10 finish.
Â
As a team, Seton Hall had the second-best final round of the field on Tuesday. The Pirates shaved 23 strokes off their second-round score to post an impressive 6-over-par, 294. The performance enabled The Hall to hop a pair of teams in the final 18 holes and finish fourth. For the tournament, the Pirates shot a 63-over-par, 316-317-294-927. Oregon State ran away with the team title at 26-over-par. Host Loyola (Md.) finished second, only five strokes ahead of the Pirates.
