
Pirates Defeat Misericordia in Final Tune-Up Exhibition

South Orange, N.J. - The Seton Hall men's basketball team connected on 59.5 percent of its field goal attempts, and all 13 student-athletes connected on at least one field goal as the Pirates took care of business against Misericordia, 112-38, in an exhibition game Tuesday inside historic Walsh Gymnasium.
Senior Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.) wowed the crowd by hitting his first four three-point attempts, and he finished the game with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting overall and 6-for-10 from three in only 15 minutes of action.Â
Fellow double digit scorers included junior Myles Cale (Middletown, Del.) pouring in 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, sophomore Jared Rhoden (Baldwin, N.Y.) scoring 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting, sophomore Darnell Brodie (Newark, N.J.) had 12 points on 6-of-7 from the field, freshman Tyrese Samuel (Montreal, Quebec) added 11 points including some highlight dunks, and junior Shavar Reynolds, Jr. (Manchester, N.J.) dropped in 10 points.
Turning Point
It was only 8-7 in favor of the Pirates in the early going when Powell took over and scored the game's next eight points to spark a 48-11 run to end the first half.The Pirates forced 17 first-half turnovers to give themselves ample opportunities to pull away.
