NEW YORK – Seton Hall junior Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) was named BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week on Friday.
Â
Kness capped a career-best tournament performance with a 2-over-par, 74, in the final round to lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to a fourth place finish at the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship. Kness had birdies on holes No. 17 and No. 18 to fuel her 74 and lock down her fourth career top-5 finish. For the three-round event, she tied for fourth place among 90 individual golfers with a 2-under-par, 68-72-74-214. Kness finished five strokes behind Georgia Southern's Ella Ofstedahl, who claimed the individual title.
Â
Kness's 2-under-par, 214, represents her second career sub-par tournament, and ties teammates Maddie Sager and Sarah Fouratt for the par-72, three-round record set earlier this fall at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
