
Pirates Finish Strong in Day Three of Patriot Invitational

Fairfax, Va. - Freshman Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.) swam a lifetime best in the 200 Backstroke on Day Three of the Patriot Invitational. Pantano's time of 1:48.02 was good enough for a second place finish in the final for the event.
The Pirates were also strong in the 200 Breaststroke. Senior Josh Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) and sophomore Thomas Staes (Berlaar, Belgium) continued their strong outing at the invite with respective times of 2:00.55 and 2:01.66. Tosoni found himself in second place in the event after a third place finish in the 100 Breasttsroke on Day Two.
After three days of competition, the Pirates accumulated a hard-earned 366 combined points. The squad will be back in the pool when they travel to Fairfield, Conn. on January 12, to take on Fairfield in the first race of the winter season.
