Seton Hall's top two scorers are hurt, and the seventh-ranked team in the country is visiting Prudential Center Thursday night.
While things may appear to be stacked against the Pirates in their battle against Maryland on Thursday, don't discount the fact that there are still many talented student-athletes on this squad ready to battle in front of a large Pirates audience. It would be foolish to write this group off mid-December.
Thursday night's game will air on FS1 with Gus Johnson and Jim Jackson on the call. Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin will as always bring the heat on the radio via AM970 The Answer, simulcast on the Pirate Sports Network.
Three Things to Know About Thursday's Matchup With The Terps
 1. Bring the Defense to Bring the Win
Seton Hall's roots are in strong defense, and although it's been a touch shaky, this is still a squad ranked 33rd in the nation in defensive efficiency. If you don't have your top playmaker, it makes sense to then use your defense to generate offense. The Hall can be at its best when it is forcing turnovers and getting out on the break. Here's hoping we see at least one patented Quincy McKnight "Pick Six."

2. Bring the Noise
The second deck is open and there's going to be a ton of Pirates fans Thursday night. Bring the energy that you brought to the Michigan State game or last year's Villanova game. The support Pirates fans give to these student-athletes is a huge help.
 Â
3. The Cale & Gill Factor
In last year's meeting with Maryland, Myles Cale dropped 23 points on the Terps, and in the suprise start of the year, Romaro Gill was fantastic with six points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Getting similar production from those to this Thursday night would go a long way towards going home with the W.
