Pirate Blue Hosts Fifth Annual Corks & Forks
4/18/2019 12:52:00 PM | Pirate Blue
Pirate Blue celebrated its fifth Annual Corks & Forks presented by Maria & Anthony Bozzella and Julie & Kevin Willard. The fun-filled night included over 150 Pirate Blue supporters, student athletes and extended Pirate Blue family.
In 2015, at the inaugural Corks & Forks, our gracious host Jim O'Brien hoped that Corks and Forks would become a premier Pirate Blue event and it has exceeded all our expectations. The evening included hand-picked wines for tasting along with a lovely dinner. This year Pirate Blue included awards by acknowledging three outstanding women. Our "Woman to Watch" award went to women's soccer senior student-athlete Taylor Cutcliff. Our "HALL-IN" award went to former student-athlete, alumna and supporter Mary Beth Childs. Our "Campus Champion" award went to long-time Faculty Athletics Representative, faculty member and supporter Dr. Laura Schoppmann. Director of Athletics Pat Lyons and Senior Associate AD Jay Judge addressed the crowd with heartfelt gratitude and appreciation.
"Corks & Forks has become one of the top Pirate Blue events on the annual calendar, and we are thrilled to see its growth over the last five years," Lyons said. "I want to thank all the attendees for their support, and I want to give special thanks to our award winners, Taylor, Mary Beth and Dr. Schoppmann. The women in our Seton Hall community are phenomenal role models, and the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and thank them for their support at Corks & Forks is a moment I am thankful to have. Pirate Blue and I are already excited for next year's event."
The event was a tremendous success due to the support of our guests and their participation in our Tricky Tray raffle along with countless other donations. Prizes included golf experiences, exclusive Seton Hall and Under Armour gear, hotel stays, ladies accessories and much more! Through the raffle and donations, Pirate Blue was able to raise over $47,000!
Pirate Blue thanks all the attendees for their support and generosity. This would not have been possible without your commitment to our student-athletes and athletic programs. We look forward to seeing you all at our next "Corks & Forks".
