Nagai, Yeom Named to PING All-Region Team

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – Seniors Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) and Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) were named to the Division I PING Men's Golf All-Northeast Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Both golfers are being honored with this recognition for the second time in their collegiate careers.
Golfers are selected across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - for 2019. Go earns the impressive distinction for a fourth straight year.
Recently named to the All-BIG EAST First Team for a second time, Nagai's 73.16 stroke average for the year was second best on the team and fifth-best in the BIG EAST Conference. Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Feb. 28, he notched four top-10 and three top-4 finishes this year. Nagai's seven sub-par rounds and two sub-par tournaments led The Hall in 2018-19. At the Loyola Intercollegiate, he tied for second place with a 7-under-par, 71-72-66-209. His third round, 6-under-par, 66, was a career-best and tied for the third-lowest score in Pirate history.
Nagai finishes his career at Seton Hall ranked seventh in program history with 44 tournaments played and his 122 rounds are second to only Lloyd Jefferson Go's 123. Nagai's eight sub-par tournaments are third-most and his 27 sub-par rounds, again only trail Go.
Yeom, a three-time All-BIG EAST selection, led Seton Hall and ranked third in the BIG EAST Conference with a 72.72 stroke average in 2018-19, the sixth-best single-year mark in Pirate history. Twice named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week, he was the top Pirate finisher at the 2019 BIG EAST Championship, tying for eighth place. His top effort for the year was a record-setting 8-under-par, 67-69-136, at the Harford Hawks Invitational. Yeom's 136 set Seton Hall's par-72, two-round mark.
Yeom also finishes among Seton Hall's top 10 all-time in career tournaments, rounds, top-10 finishes, top-5 finishes, sub-par tournaments and sub-par rounds.
Yeom and Nagai finished their careers ranked second and third respectively all-time at Seton Hall in career stroke average, trailing only former teammate Lloyd Jefferson Go.
