South Orange, N.J. - Seton Hall men's basketball incoming freshman Tyrese Samuel has been selected to represent Canada at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup, taking place June 29 to July 7 in Greece and Crete. Samuel, one of the top Canadian student-athletes coming to the United States to play collegiate basketball, is part of a very talented 12-man roster that was drawn into Group B of the tournament alongside Australia, Latvia and Mali.
In the 16-team tournament, squads will play three group stage games before being bracketed into a single-elimination format to compete for the championship. All games will be streamed on YouTube at YouTube.com/FIBA.
Before the World Cup, Samuel previously participated internationally on the U18 Canadian National team apart of the 2018 FIBA Americas Championship. Canada finished as the runner-up in the tournament.
