Seton Hall Announces 2019 Fall Schedule

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Head coach Clay White announced the 2019 Seton Hall men's golf spring schedule on Wednesday. The Pirates will participate in five events this fall.
The Hall will open the fall season for the third straight year with the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, hosted by Colgate University at Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y., Sept. 7-8. Last year, the Pirates placed fourth with an impressive 15-over-par, 293-293-293-879. Playing in his first collegiate tournament, Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) tied for fourth place with an even-par, 75-71-70-216. The three-round event is named in memory of the son of Seton Hall assistant coach Ian Lagowitz. Alex played collegiate golf at Colgate.
The following week, the Pirates will head to Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Conn. for the Hartford Hawks Invitational for an eighth straight year. The Pirates will play three rounds of golf over two days, Sept. 16-17. Historically, this has been a successful event for the Pirates and last year was certainly no exception. Seton Hall placed third with a school record-low, 12-under-par, 282-282-564. Alex Chalk (Castle Douglas, Scotland) was the top Pirate among 2019-20 returnees with a 1-over-par, 73-72-145. Ramachandran was 2-over-par.
Three weeks later, Seton Hall will participate in a new tournament, the Hamptons Intercollegiate. Hosted by Loyola University of Maryland, the three-round event will be played over two days, Oct. 7-8, at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton, N.Y.
A week later, the Pirates will play the Georgetown Intercollegiate in Beallsville, Md. at the Members Club at Four Streams, Oct. 14-15. It will be the third straight fall competing in the event for The Hall. Last year, the Pirates placed second, finishing with a 10-over-par, 290-284-288. Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) was the top Pirate finisher among returnees, tying for 13th place with a 4-over-par, 72-73-72-217.
The Pirates will close out the fall season with another new tournament, the Grandover Collegiate. The field will play three rounds of golf over two days, Oct. 27-28, at Grandover Resorts in Greensboro, N.C. The tournament is being hosted by the University of North Carolina – Greensboro.
