Pirates Draw Oregon in Battle 4 Atlantis Quarters

Nassau, Bahamas -Â The 2019 Battle 4 Atlantis bracket is out, and the Seton Hall men's basketball team will open up its first-ever appearance in the tournament with a quarterfinal matchup against Oregon Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. The winner of the game will face the winner of Gonzaga vs. Southern Miss. The opposite side of the bracket consists of Michigan vs. Iowa State and North Carolina vs. Alabama. All Battle 4 Atlantis games will air on the ESPN Family of Networks.
This will be only the second-ever meeting between the Pirates and Ducks on the court, and the first was an epic. In the 2000 NCAA Tournament first round in Buffalo, N.Y., Shaheen Holloway drove the length of the court to connect on a layup with 1.9 seconds remaining in overtime as The Hall topped Oregon to advance to the second round. The Pirates went on to defeat Temple in the second round to account for the program's last NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance.
Ranked the top early-season tournament by NCAA.com's Andy Katz, the Battle 4 Atlantis features three teams that are consensus preseason ranked teams among college basketball pundits. This includes Seton Hall, Gonzaga and North Carolina. The Pirates are one of six teams in the eight-team field to have reached the NCAA Tournament last season and one of four teams to have reached each of the last four NCAA Tournaments.
Led by 10th-year head coach Kevin Willard, the Pirates return all but one student-athlete from last season's 20-win, NCAA Tournament team, accounting for 88 percent of the scoring. The Hall is headlined by rising senior guard Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.), who averaged 23.1 points a game last season and is expected to garner significant preseason award attention.
